About three months ago, we received a request for a trip to Barcelona. The founder of a large IT company was saying goodbye to the company and wanted to surprise a few the of employees with an unforgettable trip to Barcelona as to thank them.
An incentive trip organised to Barcelona
Because the trip was to take place within two and a half months, we went all out to take care of this on such short notice. We managed to create a great two-day programme, which fully met the customer’s wishes. When we wanted to take care of the finishing touches about two weeks beforehand, we received a call from the customer with the question of whether we could reschedule the trip one day earlier due to personal circumstances of one of the travellers. Of course, we immediately contacted our suppliers and after a day of intensive contact with all parties, we managed to reschedule the entire trip, including the hotel! We regularly face last-minute challenges like these that we need to find a solution for.
The group left for Barcelona two weeks later. I waited for them at the gate at Schiphol and guided them in the entire trip to ensure that everything went perfectly. Except for our client and his wife, the entire programme was a surprise for the group.
Very luxurious dinner and accommodation
From the airport in Barcelona, I took the group to 5-star hotel W-Barcelona. A fantastic hotel in a beautiful location. The sun was shining, so it was a great start to the day. After a welcome drink, we got going.
We visited a viewpoint with an amazing view of Barcelona and its surroundings. We then went to our lunch restaurant by cable car for a delicious three-course lunch.
Of course, a visit to the impressive Sagrada Familia could not be missing in the afternoon. In the meantime, I was regularly in contact with the various locations and our driver to ensure the group didn’t have to wait anywhere and could enjoy everything optimally.
Delicious drinks with an amazing view
The evening started with a drink at Eclipse: a trendy club situated on the 26th floor of the hotel. We managed to arrange with the hotel that part of the club was reserved for our group, which is exceptional because this usually involves high costs. Thanks to our negotiations, the reservation costs were next to nothing for us!
And to top it all off, we had three limousines arrive shortly after, which took the group to a 3-star restaurant in style!
The biggest surprise …
The next day had another surprise in store for the group, namely a helicopter flight above Barcelona! The group was dumbfounded and visibly enjoyed this fantastic flight. After a delicious lunch, we visited Camp Nou, the stadium of FC Barcelona. We ended the day with delicious drinks and traditional Spanish tapas.
The group flew back to Amsterdam in the evening. It was an amazing trip, and even more importantly: a worthy farewell for the founder of the IT company. Want to discover more of our (incentive) trips? Then look at our blog!
