On Friday 2 February, the time had finally come: the annual event of our regular client took place. Last year, we fully organised this event in Après-Ski style, but this year, the theme is: Superheroes, with a whopping 550 guests.
The primary goal of this event was information transfer, but also to involve the employees of this company and further optimise the connection between the headquarters and the operation. On the one hand, an event with a very important plenary component, followed by delicious food, a unique party and various performances. A movie scene with superheroes like Iron Man and Batman, superhero decorations, superfood, interesting presentations and cool acts. Read more…
The final preparations: dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s!
When we received this request, we were immediately very excited about the Superheroes theme. How great would it be to welcome the superheroes of this company fully in style? Of course, the theme had to run throughout the entire day: from arrival to departure.
Together with the contacts, we set out the main lines and begin the true preparation for making this an unforgettable evening and afternoon.
We managed to achieve the craziest things. For instance, we were looking for a surprise in the form of lifelike mannequins (superheroes). Unfortunately, our regular suppliers could not provide these. But giving up was not an option, not for the goMICE project manager for this relation: Nadia. Two weeks before the event, she was successful. She found the perfect lifelike superhero mannequins and fortunately, they were still available. Now we truly could not wait for the event to begin!
An event organised in Studios Aalsmeer
This time, the event took place in Studio’s Aalsmeer. We selected this location because it has the exact appearance we wanted for the theme. Futuristic, modern and atmospheric.
We at goMICE (Nadia, Lotte and I) of course had to walk around in superhero style as well, so we put on our Batwoman sweaters.
Around 16:00 hrs, the first heroes arrived, and they were welcomed with a nice and refreshing drink, fully in superhero style. The guests had to be patient for a while longer, because the plenary theatre hall was not open yet. After all, the reception was not actually until 17:00 PM. Guests came from all over the Netherlands, so people took no risks to be on time. Fortunately, they had a great time making pictures in the lobby, which is where, and many others, Superman was set up.
Our Iron Man was also very popular. He scanned the invitations and took pictures with whomever wanted to. This was a nice way to bridge the time.
Meanwhile, we are taking care of the last things in the plenary hall, together with the contacts. At 17:10 PM sharp, we ask the people (almost all dressed up like superheroes) to come to the hall.
The presentations during the plenary part
They couldn’t believe their eyes… especially when the presentations began. Through a spectacular animated film, the superheroes were guided through the plenary part, alternated by a couple speakers.
The massive LED screens and the immersive sound did their work. Impressive, as always in this hall. The technology guys managed to arrange everything perfectly on schedule. They are the best!
With the help of our regular technology supplier and StudioAalsmeer, everything went precisely according to plan once again. The speakers felt confident, relaxed, and everything came across naturally: we hadn’t dedicated two days to practise for nothing. They barely needed their ‘cheat screen’. The superheroes were constantly commended for the results, but there were some critical notes. But that’s part of it.
At the end of the presentations, a festive song started playing, performed by Iron Man and another superhero. Iron Man had the desired effect: the place went wild! The show of these superheroes ensured that people left the hall partying and dancing, on their way to the delicious buffets with superhero food. The buffets were a great success and we soon saw everyone enjoying the delicious food, varying from a hamburger to a pizza and noodles buffet.
The Big Apple
We soon opened the third area (The Big Apple), an area that was very surprising to everyone. You more or less stepped into a Batman movie scene, including the Brooklyn Bridge, various superhero mannequins, spiderwebs, bats, and more than anything, unbelievably cool music.
Our regular DJ opened the party and after one hour, Stef Ekkel performed (there was a great preference for Dutch-language music amongst these superheroes). None other than DJ Jean concluded the party. What a party, everyone went wild! And the images below certainly prove it.
When I think back to this evening, it gives me goose bumps again. Everything went better than we could have expected. We closed the event while enjoying a hotdog. Tired but satisfied, we waved everyone off.
Looking back on an amazing event
Project Manager did amazing work in the preparation: it must have been so much effort, but when you see the result, you can be proud. In any case, I am very proud of the superheroes of goMICE: Nadia and Lotte! Take three minutes to see more amazing pictures of the event:
When you also receive nice quotes, immediately after the event and from multiple contacts, you become even prouder:
“Thanks again for the very successful event this Friday. Everything was perfect and that warrants a major compliment towards you and the good preparation. It wasn’t always easy for you, as I sent quite a lot of e-mails and questions, but it’s great that everything worked out. We look back on a very successful event with nothing but happy and motivated colleagues!”
” Thank you for your efforts. The conclusion of the presentations with the superheroes was brilliant. “
That is why we do what we do. Giving people an incredible experience and unburdening them with a great focus on HOSPITALITY. That’s goMICE! Don’t go without us!
